- Most people know Luke Perry, who died Monday after a massive stroke, for his role in “Beverly Hills 90210.” However, what many might not know is one of the actor’s first professional gigs was in a Twisted Sister video.
- Perry appeared in the video for “Be Chrool to Your Scuel,” which centered on a high school that becomes overrun by zombies. Released at the peak of Twisted Sister’s popularity in 1985, the song featured guest appearances by Alice Cooper, Clarence Clemons, Billy Joel and Brian Setzer. If the video doesn’t ring any bells, that’s likely because MTV execs deemed the clip “too gross” to air.
- It wasn’t until years later that Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snyder realized he’d played a part in building Perry’s career. He says, “Years later, when watching the video with my kids, I would spot a then-unknown Luke Perry in the classroom.”
