Blue Cross Blue Shield Fined By Illinois

Blue Cross Blue Shield is being punished by the state of Illinois.  The Illinois Department of Insurance announced yesterday fines totaling 339-thousand for Health Care Service Corporation, the parent company of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois.  The fines were handed down after the department found that the company didn’t properly file updated network adequacy filings following the termination of its contract with Springfield Clinic, which serves around 100-thousand people in Central Illinois.
