The body of a second teenager has been recovered on Saturday after he was struck by a train earlier in the week on the Hickory Creek bridge in Joliet. 15-year-old Charles Cooper had been missing since Wednesday when a Metra Train also hit and killed Jacob Manka of Mokena. It was just after 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday that the two were walking along the track with two other individuals when Manka and Cooper were hit by a train. The other two teen were able to escape without injury. Cooper’s body was discovered after 2:00 p.m. Saturday downstream from the bridge near Garner Street.
