Will County Executive Larry Walsh and the acting Chief Judge David
Carlson have announced the closure of all county buildings on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 and they will reopen at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 31.
Joliet Township Facilities will be closed on Wednesday, January 30 and Thursday, January 31, 2019 due to the extreme cold weather. The Supervisors Office, Clerk’s Office and the Assessor’s Office will be closed both days. The Highway Department will be closed but should an emergency arise staff will be contacted and dispatched by the Will County Sheriff to address the issue. The Animal Control Center will be also be closed but staff will be there to care for the animals currently being held at the facility. The Township Offices will re-open at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019.
Due to the dangerous weather the Family Outreach Food Pantry of Will County has canceled their Food Distribution tomorrow Thursday, January 31st. Normally held every Thursday morning from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM behind Food 4 Less, the West side of 1701 N Larkin Ave Crest Hill.

Channahon School District 17 closed today, Wednesday, January 30.
Plainfield School District 202 has canceled school for both Wednesday and Thursday, January 30-31st
Valley View School District 365U has canceled classes and after school activities for both Wednesday and Thursday, January 30-31st
209U St. Joseph Academy in Joliet is closed both Wednesday and Thursday, January 30-31st
Chaney-Monge School District 88 in Crest Hill will be closed both Wednesday and Thursday, January 30-31st.
Will County School District 92 serving Lockport and Homer Glen has canceled after school activities for today and canceled school for both Wednesday and Thursday.
Lincolnway School District 210 has canceled school for tomorrow Wednesday, January 30th due to the extreme cold temperatures. As for Thursday, it’s a wait and see approach and they will make that decision as the weather conditions are monitored.
Rockdale School District 84 will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
Lemont School District 113A schools will be closed on Wednesday, January 30th and Thursday, January 31st. All before and after school activities in SD113A are canceled both days.
Joliet Jr. College will close early today, Jan. 29, at 4 p.m. The college will also be closed all day Wednesday, January 30th and Thursday, January 31st
St. Rays School in Joliet is closed tomorrow and as for Thursday, that decision will likely be made tomorrow.
Troy Township Offices and Senior programs are canceled for Wednesday, January 30th.
Joliet District 86 will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
Joliet Township High School will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
Richland 88A will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
Laraway School District will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
All Joliet park district facilities will be closed tomorrow.
All Channahon Park Facilities will be closed Wednesday through Thursday at 10 a.m.
First Federal Savings Bank branches are closed tomorrow and open Thursday, January 31st from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The 2019 Great Read Opening Event scheduled for this Thursday, January 31st is canceled because of the anticipated dangerous temperatures.
KCC college will also be closed Wednesday, Jan. 30 and Thursday, Jan. 31.
