• A Slipknot tribute band looking for an “accurate, dedicated Corey Taylor” to front the group has received a response from the best possible candidate for the job: Corey Taylor himself.
  • The listing, which ran on Craigslist, read, “We are an established Slipknot tribute band, dubbed the most accurate Slipknot tribute in the world. We are in need of someone in the same or near same physical shape as Corey Taylor, 5’8, that has the same vocal range. Stage experience is a must! Be able to command a crowd and act the part.” The ad goes on to say the successful applicant will need to “buy multiple jumpsuits, etc. A mask will be provided for now for accuracy sake.”
  • Taylor responded to the ad, writing, “If you’re interested, I’m also sitting at 166 pounds.” Although Taylor actually has too much on his plate to moonlight with the tribute band, he’s given the group exposure by re-posting the ad — along with his response — on Twitter.
  • Should a tribute band exist if the band it’s paying homage to is still together? What was the most accurate tribute band you’ve seen?
