- Well, this is a walk down memory lane.
- In an interview on Sirius XM, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor described how he almost joined Anthrax.
- The idea was thrown around after Anthrax’s 2003 album release of We’ve Come For You All. It was the last with John Bush on vocals.
- The plan was hatched when Taylor performed a gig with Scott Ian.
- “We all just went, Hmmm. That could be interesting.”
- Slipknot’s label (Roadrunner) gave a hard no because they were still under contract to do another album.
- “It was the first time I had ever felt like I was kind of backed into a corner. Not that I didn’t want to do a Slipknot album, but I was so into the idea of doing an Anthrax album.” But, he acknowledged it all worked out in the end.
- Corey Taylor’s debut solo album is coming out on October 2.
