Couple Carjacked At Gun Point On Far West Side Of Joliet
In Joliet on the far west side last night, residents received a reverse 911 call, prompting residents to remain in their homes and lock their doors due to an active police investigation and search of the area. The reverse call came in at 12:06 a.m. and was bound by County Line Road to Caton Farm Road and Drauden to Indian Boundary. Joliet police tell WJOL that in the 66-hundred block of Irma Harvey, two victims were robbed at gun point while sitting in their vehicle which was reported at approximately 11:45 p.m.
The suspect took items from the victims and then took their vehicle. The victim’s vehicle was located a short time later in the 2400 block of Joe Adler unoccupied. This prompted the Facebook post and reverse 911 calls to the area. A search of the area was conducted but were unable to locate the suspect. This is still being investigated. The “stay in doors” alert was canceled at 1:04 a.m.
