Cranberries say Dolores O’Riordan would have been ‘Impressed’ with Miley Cyrus’ Cover of ‘Zombie’
  • While covers of classic songs are often viewed as blasphemous, pop tart Miley Cyrus has received the highest praise for her recent cover of the Cranberries track “Zombie.”
  • Reacting to Cyrus’ performance of the 1994 hit at Whiskey a Go-Go last week, the members of the Cranberries posted a tweet in which they said late vocalist Dolores O’Riordan would have given Cyrus’ take a thumbs-up. “‘We were delighted to hear of Miley Cyrus’ cover of ‘Zombie,'” the tweet reads. “It’s one of the finest covers of the song that we’ve heard. We think Dolores would be very impressed!”
  • O’Riordan, 46, was found dead in a bathtub in London’s Park Lane Hilton Hotel in January 2018. Her official cause of death was “drowning due to alcohol intoxication,” a coroner ruled.
  • Will Cyrus be just as popular as she is now when she’s 46? What do you think of her cover of “Zombie?”
