Joliet Fire Department Dive Team Attempts Morning Rescue…

UPDATE: Sadly the man who was pulled from the retention pond this morning in Joliet died.

According to officials, 21 year old Jacob Conrad of Plainfield was pronounced deceased at 5:53 a.m. Monday at the emergency room of AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

 

Joliet Firefighters responded to a vehicle that went into a retention pond on Labor Day morning on the west side of Joliet.  The Joliet Fire Department Dive Team responded and crews found a car upside down in a pond near the intersection of Vision Land and Paradise in Joliet. Crews on the scene assisted a diver and were able to remove one victim who was then transported to the hospital. Condition of the victim is unknown at this time.
