The much-publicized plans to “Raid Area 51” were cancelled, but apparently nobody told 20-year-old Dutch YouTube star Ties Granzier.
Granzier and a friend were arrested this week after they were found poking around the Nevada National Security Site, just a few miles from Area 51.
The boys say they “didn’t have any intention to storm it” and just wanted to get a good look at the infamous military base. Unfortunately, they ignored a “No Trespassing” sign, and it didn’t help that officers found cameras, a laptop, and a drone in their vehicle.
The pair were given a three-night stay in a Nevada jail and will each have to pay a $2,280 fine once they’re released. Granzier, who told police he was a YouTuber, says they “learned from our mistakes”.
