Fatal Crash On I-55 Saturday Takes Life Of Romeoville Woman

A fatal crash on I-55 north of I-80 on Saturday takes the life of a 58-year old Romeoville woman. The Will County Coroner reports Michelle McCombs was pronounced deceased at 6:16 p.m. on Saturday, May 4th at the Amita St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. McCombs was the driver of a vehicle going northbound on I-55 and was struck from behind near mile marker 252, one mile north of Route 59.
Illinois State Police District 5 is investigating. The Will County Coroner conducted an autopsy on Sunday and found McCombs sustained multiple injuries due to the vehicle crash.
