- After teasing fans that new music was on the way, Foo Fighters announced a new album and shared the first single on Wednesday.
- But Here We Are is the band’s first album since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins last year.
- The band calls the album “A brutally honest and emotionally raw response to everything Foo Fighters endured over the last year” – but also “a testament to the healing powers of music, friendship and family”.
- The first single, “Rescued”, seems to reference Hawkins’ death in its opening lines: “It came out of nowhere, it happened so fast… is this happening now?“
- The band has not revealed who plays drums on “Rescued”, or who will play drums on the band’s upcoming tour and festival dates.
- But Here We Are will be out June 2nd and is available for pre-order now.
- Do you think “Rescued” is about Hawkins? Who do you think the drummer is?
