Here’s Why Extra Police Were at Minooka High School South Campus on Wednesday

A larger than normal police presence at and around a local school yesterday for about an hour. Channahon police officers responded at about 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25th to Minooka High School South Campus after a student was in crisis and left school without permission.

The MCHS school administration and staff, along with officers from the Minooka Police Department and Shorewood Police Department coordinated efforts, locating the student safely.

The response created a larger than normal police presence at and around the school until approximately 11:20 AM. Additionally, the Channahon Police Department and the Shorewood Police Department successfully deployed a drones as part of the search efforts.
