House Passes Proposal To Help Pay Low-Income Residents’ Housing Applications

The Illinois House is advancing a bill that would help struggling families pay housing application fees. Democratic state lawmakers are proposing a special grant program for low-income residents needing assistance with housing application fees. Property owners could still conduct background checks on applicants.
