Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul is warning residents about scams tied to relief efforts for Ukraine. People should be on the lookout for fundraising scams by individuals seeking to exploit the crisis for their personal profit. Residents seeking out ways to support relief efforts in and around Ukraine should to do research before making donations. Raoul recommends finding out whether the charity is providing direct aid in the region or raising money for other groups.
