The Illinois State Police are getting tougher on people who’ve lost their FOID cards and need to give-up their guns. State Police Director Brendan Kelly says Troopers will work with local sheriffs and police departments to make sure that people who have lost their FOID cards surrender their cards. The order comes after the shooter at an Aurora plant did not surrender his gun after losing his FOID card, then killed five people in a fit of rage.
