Joliet Police are sharing information on a shooting earlier this morning. It was at 2:43am that Officers were called to the 3300 block of Crazy Horse Drive in reference to a shooting. Officer determined that the victim was alerted by his security system that there was motion detected in the driveway. The victim turned on the outside lights of the residence and observed a subject inside a vehicle parked in the driveway. The victim went to confront the subject when the subject ran towards an awaiting dark colored vehicle. The subject then fired several shots towards the victim before entering the vehicle and fleeing the area. The victim was unharmed but the residence was struck. The suspect is described as male black last seen wearing a white hoodie while armed with a firearm. The Joliet Police is actively investigating this incident and will update the public at a later date when it has more information. Police Chief Al Roechner in a statement to the media said that ““If you see someone burglarizing a vehicle, do not approach the person. It is not worth getting injured or risking your life. The best and safest course of action is to immediately call the police and give a description of what the person is wearing and their last direction of travel.”
