Joliet West High School Students Place Third at Technology Day Competition
Joliet West High School students Mason Schlegel and Jake Thorstad placed 3rd in the Invention/Innovation Event at the Technology Day competition held on October 9 at Illinois State University. Schlegel and Thorstad were two of over 400 students from across Illinois to compete at Technology Day, an event sponsored by the Illinois-Technology Student Association.
At Technology Day students throughout Illinois participate in hands-on, problem-solving engineering-based activities and challenges. The four areas of competition were Invention/ Innovation, Structural Technology, Transportation Technology, and Engineering Design. Joliet West High School was well represented at the event with 32 students from 16 teams competing. Students who competed in the competition were from Joliet West High School Instructor John Barber’s Auto Tech, Computer Repair and Electronics & Robotics classes.
