A 34-year-old Joliet woman is arrested after she allegedly stabbed her husband Saturday evening at MorningStar Mission in Joliet. Officers responded to 512 East Washington Street for a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, Officers determined that a male victim had been stabbed in the upper chest by his wife, Martinza Espinosa. Further investigation determined that during an argument, Espinosa used a kitchen knife to stab the victim, causing a small laceration to the victim’s chest. Espinosa was still on the scene and was placed into custody without incident. The victim was transported to AMITA St. Joseph Medical Center by ambulance for treatment.

Espinosa was arrested, booked, and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility for Aggravated Battery and Domestic Battery. Bond set at $15,000.
