Last week Sheriff Dwight A. Baird adopted the 10 Shared Principles set forth by the NAACP and the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police. The 10 Shared Principles are designed to build trust between law enforcement and communities of color. Listed below are the principles and the affirmation to work together and stand together with our communities and replace mistrust with mutual trust wherever, whenever, and however we can.

Sheriff Baird stated “All of these shared principles have been integrated into our policies and procedures for quite some time. This agreement encompasses these principles into one document. By signing this agreement and adopting these shared principles it allows us to publicly communicate our commitment to the citizens of Kendall County.
