Magical Well Outside of Chicago said to Cure Everything from Headaches to Cancer

- It may not be the Fountain of Youth, but a water well in a suburban Chicago neighborhood is being touted as having magical health benefits.
- Located in Schiller Woods, the water well has been drawing scores of visitors. who having been lining up with empty bottles every day for the better part of 10 years. Regular visitors say drinking the special water has cured them of a variety of ailments, ranging from headaches to cancer. One, Nick Karapournos, swears he’s grown 10 years younger since he began making frequent visits to the well.
- While Cook County Forest Preserves officials stop short of confirming the well’s miraculous properties, they say the water is clean and drinkable. “Due to this specific pump’s popularity, the Forest Preserves tests its water quarterly,” communications director Carl Vogel says. “We are always happy to see that an amenity in the Forest Preserves is enjoyed and popular with residents.”
