Manhattan Police Search For Man; Missing Since May 26th
Manhattan police is asking for the public’s help in finding 47-year-old Anthony Fehrenbacher. It was on June 1st that Tony (known to his friends) was reported missing by his wife. He was last seen walking in the neighborhood by his residence in Manhattan on May 26th around 7 p.m.
Anthony lives alone at home and there were no signs of foul play when police conducted a well-being check of his residence. He is described as a white male with gray hair, brown eyes, 5’ 10” and weighs 175 pounds.
According to the missing person report, “It is unknown what Anthony was wearing last or if he had his cell phone with him.” Anthony has been entered into both state and national law enforcement databases.
Manhattan Police is working with the Will County Sheriff’s office and Will County EMA to conduct some aerial drone searches as a precautionary measure. Also, police are seeking a subpoena to access Anthony’s phone and financial records. Manhattan Police Chief Jeff Wold says this is a normal practice when investigating a missing person.
Wold says his family and friends are very concerned. They organized a search of the Wauponsee Trail and the northern portion of Midewin.
Wold tells WJOL, they are “Gearing up for the worst and hoping for the best.”
