- Depending on who you’re talking to, Metallica’s James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett will either be breaking new ground for rock-metal acts, or they’re selling out.
- Either way, the duo has signed on to perform the National Anthem at Wednesday’s NBA Final at the Oracle Arena in Oakland. While they haven’t revealed what style they’ll employ for the performance, Hammett promises their version of the Star-Spangled Banner will be “really unique and different.”
- The performance, which will precede the game between the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors, will air live on ABC.
