ISP FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH ALERT

 

The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by the Illinois State Police

District 5

 

WHAT:                      Three Unit Fatal Traffic Crash

WHERE:                   Illinois Route 47 at Walker Road, Kendall County

WHEN:                      Aug. 19, 2021 at approximately 8:59 p.m.

VEHICLE:                Unit 1- 2002 Gray GMC Yukon

                                    Unit 2- 2000 Black Freightliner

                                    Unit 3- 2008 Black Chevrolet Avalanche

DRIVER:                   Unit 1- Timothy D. Ryan, 67-year-old male of Lockport, IL (Transported to local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries)

                                    Unit 2- Jaguir S. Sidhu, 45-year-old male of Brampton, ON

                                    Unit 3- Jennifer M. Bauer, 42-year-old female of Sandwich, IL (Transported to local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries)

PASSENGERS:         Unit 3- Joshua J. Bauer, 43-year-old male of Sandwich, IL (Deceased)

                                    Unit 3- 14-year-old female of Sandwich, IL (Transported to local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries)

 

PRELIMINARY:      A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on Walker Road approaching IL-47.  Unit 2 was traveling southbound on IL-47 and Unit 3 was traveling northbound on IL-47, both approaching Walker Road.  Unit 1 driver failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection.  The front end of Unit 1 struck the rear passenger side of Unit 2 and Unit 1 entered the ditch southeast of the intersection.  Upon impact, Unit 2 rolled onto its side in the roadway.  The front end of Unit 3 then struck the rear end of Unit 2 and both units became fully engulfed.

The front seat passenger of Unit 3 sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.  IL-47 northbound at Caton Farm Road and IL-47 southbound at Ament Road was closed for the crash investigation; all lanes were reopened at approximately 2:45 a.m. on Aug. 20, 2021.  There is no further information available.
