New Gun Law Aimed At Clearing FOID Card Backlog

A new gun law is aimed at helping clear the backlog in issuing Firearm Owners Identification cards. Governor J.B. Pritzker signed a bill into law Monday that will upgrade how FOID cards are processed and renewed. The provides automatic renewal of FOID cards when a gun owner buys a firearm. When fingerprints are added, FOID cards will last a lifetime.
