One-Year Old Child Shot In Joliet

Bond is set at one-million dollars for a 22-year old Crest Hill man. Lavelle Barfield is charged with 3 counts of aggravated battery with a firearm after he allegedly shot a 1-year-old child and another man.

Joliet police responded to a call of shots fired on Tuesday in the 1000-block of North Broadway Street at abound 9:30 p.m. A man and a 1-year-old child were both shot. They were transported to the hospital and expected to be ok.

Barfield was arrested a short time later and is being held at the Will County Adult Detention Center. Motive for the shooting is not now. Barfield was arrested earlier this year in May and then in April of 2018 for drug charges and resisting arrest.
