Overnight Lane, Ramp Closures on I-80 in Joliet

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that pavement patching on eastbound Interstate 80, over Chicago Street (U.S. 52/Illinois 53), in Joliet, is scheduled to take place this weekend.

The work will require closing the ramps from Chicago Street to I-80, the exit ramp from eastbound I-80 to Chicago Street and multiple lanes on eastbound I-80 from 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, until 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13.

At least one lane of eastbound I-80 will remain open at all times. Due to the short duration of the closures, no detours will be posted. Motorists are advised to use adjacent entrances and exits as alternatives.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
