- Parkland student activists, outspoken since the mass shooting at their school, have just unveiled a sweeping gun control plan.
- They want to know who’s able to buy guns and what guns you own; ban so-called ‘assault weapons’ and high-capacity magazines; launch a mandatory gun buyback program; and name a “national director of gun violence prevention,” the Washington Post reports.
- “The Peace Plan,” as it’s called would also raise the purchasing age from 18 to 21 and require numerous steps for legal gun ownership – including live personal interviews and a 10-day waiting period.
- The plan goes further, calling for automatic voter registration and the implementation of mental health services.
- Does the plan go too far? Would it pass a constitutional challenge?
