Parkland student activists, outspoken since the mass shooting at their school, have just unveiled a sweeping gun control plan.
They want to know who’s able to buy guns and what guns you own; ban so-called ‘assault weapons’ and high-capacity magazines; launch a mandatory gun buyback program; and name a “national director of gun violence prevention,” the Washington Post reports.
“The Peace Plan,” as it’s called would also raise the purchasing age from 18 to 21 and require numerous steps for legal gun ownership – including live personal interviews and a 10-day waiting period.
The plan goes further, calling for automatic voter registration and the implementation of mental health services.
Does the plan go too far? Would it pass a constitutional challenge?
