If the skies clear on Sunday night we could see a lunar eclipse. Currently the forecast calls for partly cloudy skies. Art Maurer from Joliet Jr. College’s Trackman Planetarium says if the weather cooperates we should be able to see the lunar eclipse with the naked eye or by binoculars. As the Earth’s shadow creeps across the moon, there are people who say you can see the shapes of the Earth’s mountains in the shadow.

The lunar eclipse occurs on Sunday, January 20th. Eclipse starts at 9:33 p.m. and total eclipse starts at 10:41 p.m. CST.
