The Plainfield Fire Protection District is holding our annual Fire Prevention Week Open House on Saturday, October 12th from 11 am to 2 pm at Fire Station Two, 23806 W. 135th Street. There will be a children’s firefighter challenge, demonstrations, displays and free refreshments. This annual event highlights Fire Prevention Week and the theme for this year is “not every hero wears a cape. Plan and practice your escape.” This theme encourages everyone to be a hero by making a home fire escape plan and practicing the plan with everyone in your household. By having and practicing a home escape plan you will be a hero for your family. For more information on home escape planning please visit www.FPW.org or www.PlainfieldFPD.org or you may call the Fire District at 815-436-5335.
