Pritzker Raises Death Benefits For Families Of Fallen First Responders

Death benefits are going up for families of fallen first responders. Governor J.B. Pritzker signed legislation yesterday that doubles the benefits for fallen law enforcement officers’ and firefighters’ families. The new law raises the cap on state reimbursements for burial costs to 20-thousand dollars for deaths from June 30th, 2018 onward.
