• Despite what you might think, AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson doesn’t wear a cap to hide a bald spot.
  • The singer, who never appears onstage or in photos without his trademark hat, says he began the tradition after his brother suggested wearing a hat to keep the sweat out of Johnson’s eyes. “My brother Maurice … had just got himself a sports car, and he bought — God bless him — he bought one of them sports-car caps,” Johnson recalls. “You know, they’re little caps. And we were halfway through the set, and I was sitting having a beer with him, and he said, ‘Your eyes are red!’ I said, ‘I know, it’s all the sweat.’ He said, ‘Yeah, put this on.'”
  • When Johnson realized people were remembering him because of the hat, he decided to keep it in the act, he says. “It stuck,” he adds. “And I guess it’s just part of us now.”
