Romeoville Man Surrenders To Joliet Police After Negotiations

A Romeoville man surrendered to Joliet Police on Sunday morning after lengthy negotiations. Oscar Maldonado was taken into custody in the 300 block of Harwood on Sunday morning. Maldonado had arrived at the apartment building at that location and began making threats to someone inside. When Joliet Police arrived Maldonado then retreated inside the building. Authorities decided to evacuate the building for the safety of the residents. After a lengthy conversation Maldonado eventually surrendered to police and was taken into custody. He has been charged with felony unlawful person without a foid card, felony obstruction of justice and felony criminal trespassing.
