Rotten Tomatoes wants to make sure their audience scores for movies are coming from people who actually bought tickets for the film. The standard user ratings will only get reviews from people who purchased passes on Fandango. Fandango owns Rotten Tomatoes. The effort is to eliminate trolls who just want to drive down movie scores by posting a bad review. Later this year, verified ticket buyers from AMC, Cinemark, and Regal Theaters will be able to get their reviews on Rotten Tomatoes as well.
