I was born and raised in Chitown and lived on the North Side where I attended Chicago Public School, but my heart’s always been planted on the Southside. That said, I will confess my love for a small place in Evanston called Buffalo Joes (I call it BJ’s for short and I think you know why). It’s where my love affair with buffalo chicken wings began and where I learned the truth of the expression “the hotter the better.”
I first got bit by the radio bug when I was just 3 years old. I would run around the house with my dad’s microphone singing classic rock tunes like Queen’s “You’re My Best Friend” and I still have the tapes to prove it! I began DJ-ing in my basement at 16 when my dad got me my first stereo and a 2 channel Realistic mixer (yes, I was a Radio Shack nerd) and it took off from there.
I’m a huge Sevendust fan and love me some Disturbed, Smashing Pumpkins, Gretta Van Fleet, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. I will also admit I’m a fan of the lady rockers too, especially Heart! Again, the hotter the better. In addition to music, I have a passion for theatre and enjoy lighting design when I’m not acting or directing my own show.
I’m thrilled to be on-air here at QRock. I mean, what’s not to love about this station?? I have the coolest boss (yes I’m kissing a$$ here, but really he is very cool), I play the best music in the Southland (nuff said), and have the freakin’ best listeners. It’s because of YOU that we can keep “Rockin’ The Southland.” Thank you for your continued support! I want to also give a special shout out to my family for all their love and support, it’s because of you that I’m here. How do you like me now?
