JJ Yeley will not get the chance to slay the competition in a SLAYER branded car at Bristol Motor Speedway.

According to the band, other longtime sponsors pitched a fit and NASCAR decided to yank their sponsorship of the No. 54 car.

According to a SLAYER press release, “The incontrovertible PODS Moving & Storage will now sponsor that car.”

The band goes on to say, “After nearly 40 years, Slayer apparently remains as terrifying to some as ever,” Metal Injection reports.

The sponsorship was intended to promote SLAYER’s final tour dates.

Why would a SLAYER sponsored car cause controversy? Do you think NASCAR will experience backlash over the decision?
