The Will County Health Department’s Environmental Health Division is reporting that three different mosquito sample have tested positive for West Nile Virus activity. The Health Department has said that the west spring had created an unavoidable bad season for mosquitoes. They recommend that you should eliminate standing water around your home as standing water is natural breeding ground for culex mosquitoes.

West Nile Virus has symptoms very similar to the flu (such as fever, headache, body aches, and swollen lymph nodes). Anyone can catch West Nile Virus, but those most at risk for it are seniors, young children, and those with a weakened immunization system.
