If you need more proof that video game streamers are becoming major celebrities, here you go – top streamer Ninja was reportedly paid $1 million to promote EA’s latest game.

Ninja, real name Tyler Blevins, is the most popular streamer on Twitch and streams himself playing Fortnite as much as 12 hours a day.

That fame led EA to pay the 27-year-old a cool million to play its new Fortnite competitor, Apex Legends, on the game’s launch day last month.Ninja is rumored to pull down as much as $500,000 monthly from his 13 million Twitch followers. And the move appears to have paid off for EA, as Apex Legends gained more than 50 million users in its first month.
