Trial has been set for a mastermind behind the September 11 terrorist attacks.
Air Force Col. W. Shane Cohen, a US military Judge at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, set a January 11, 2021 date for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four others.
NPR reports that date may get extended, however, as the government has several earlier deadlines to make – including turning over state’s evidence. Something defense attorneys say the government hasn’t been forthcoming with. They call the trial date unrealistic.
Do you think these individuals will ever face trial in the deaths of the nearly 3,000 people killed on September 11, 2001? Should they be executed if convicted?
