- Everyone has a tough day at work from time to time but when your bad day includes very high profile people, a four percent stock drop, and your internal systems being hacked, that’s not just a “tough day” that’s a very, very bad day.
- Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, was at the center of it all as he and his team spent Wednesday trying to figure out how hackers used a Bitcoin scam to take over the accounts of Joe Biden, Kanye West, Barack Obama, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Apple’s corporate feeds, Jeff Bezos and New York’s ex-mayor, Michael Bloomberg.
- “We all feel terrible this happened. We’re diagnosing and will share everything we can when we have a more complete understanding of exactly what happened. (blue heart emoji) to our teammates working hard to make this right,” Jack tweeted.
- Most blue-check accounts were locked directly after the cyberattack, over $300,000 was compromised during the hack, however, an insider told Deadline that the money wasn’t the target, “This was about testing Twitter’s security and protocols, more like a Phase 1 than a hit and run.”
