• Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows recently spoke with Kerrang! about the progress of the band’s next album.
  • Shadows says that the band wrote most of the new album’s material pre-pandemic, so there will likely be no Covid-theme songs in the future.
  • So, what does the new music sound like? According to Shadows, it’s nothing like 2016’s The Stage and “it’s a completely new direction, and it sounds nothing like anything we’ve done. That’s all I’ll say about it: it’s over the top, and it’s very eclectic and wild.”
  • A7X have said in the past that they won’t release an album until they are completely able to tour, so it could be a good while until we get to hear the new stuff.
  • Do you agree with Avenged Sevenfold’s decision to not release an album until they can tour? What’s your favorite Avenged Sevenfold song?
